ShipOnSite Helps Create the Moment for eBay TAM Buyer.

Posted on June 12, 2008

Several weeks ago, one of our customers came in with a request. Could we help him create a moment in time for the eBay purchaser of a “new in box” Tewntieth Anniversary Macintosh computer from 1997. Folks, we’re talking an $8,000 computer here that had NEVER been opened!

The seller brought in a stuffed dummy that he had built and named Mac. Our team of professional packing a shipping experts packed the living daylights out of this box and used “Mac” as additional packing material. FedEx came in a couple of days ago, picked up the box, and sent it on its merry way.

The purchaser of the TAM had a sense of humor, and photodocumented the process of opening the box, revealing the computer, and going through a first boot squence. Fortunately for us, he posted it ALL to YouTube. So here it is… the unveiling of the 20th Anniversary Macintosh!

We actually built that box from scratch out of a sheet of cardboard. Even if we don’t have the “perfect” box for your item, the packing professionals at ShipOnSite can build one!

Many times it makes sense to go with custom boxes, due to that feared DIM WEIGHT! We too have mastered the “custom box”!….Thanks to the training and reference materials from the SOS crew!
